My best ideas come while I’m half asleep, cleaning, or while I’m in the shower. (No, I don’t know why.) So anyways, I was half asleep this morning and I had an idea. Why not start a new Copycat Craft Ideas category, pull together some links from our favorite shopping websites and find products that can become simple craft ideas? Brilliant, I thought! Well, at least I hope it was a brilliant idea. It might have just been from the deliriousness of being tired and the dog wanting to go out.
So here are 10 Easter craft ideas made from things I know for a fact are easy to find or probably already in your house. I will totally admit that some of these products are so cheap that it doesn’t make any sense to go out an buy the supplies for them. But if you are a crafty gal like me, you have plenty of things laying around just waiting to be upcycled.
Or thrown out. My husband would say that. >.<
These Easter napkins from Pottery Barn have tiny gorgeous embroidered dots around the edges. At almost $60 for four of them, I say get white napkins from the Dollar Store and paint your own dang dots around the edges with fabric paint.
I really, really love this little felted wool bluebird . It’s my favorite project on this list. You can buy it on Amazon for $13, or make it from wool roving by adapting this needle felting tutorial from Martha.
This paper Easter garland from Pottery Barn Kids is only $8 – cheap even by PBK standards. But if you have scrap paper and Easter shaped cookie cutters or paper punches, why not make it with what you have on hand? Make and Takes has a quick tutorial on how to sew paper garlands.
This Easter egg topiary cone looks like such a cinch to make. All you will need is your glue gun, a vase or urn from the thrift store, a styrofoam cone and mini fake easter eggs! At $34.99, you can definitely make this for less.
Here is a similar Easter egg topiary tree and it has dollar store craft written all over it. I know they sell those mini flower pots, plastic eggs and fake greenery. I think they even sell moss, too!
These beaded napkin rings look simple, but could be deceptively expensive depending on the beads you use. As a recovering beadaholic, I know what kind of bills you can run up in the bead department! The originals are only $16 for six, but making them yourself with beads and wire ensures that they match your existing table linens.
Here’s a different flower napkin ring that can be found on Crate & Barrel. Granted, they are only $3 each, but honestly WHO in their right mind wouldn’t make these themselves? Silk flowers + cheap bracelets + glue gun = insanely quick and cheap napkin rings.
These mini Easter basket placecard holders from Pottery Barn are cute and practical, but at $32 for 4 of them, you can buy all the materials and stuff the baskets with candy for less than that. I concede I have no idea where you would find the little metal pitchfork thingy to hold the name card. But I bet any of you could come up with a hack for that.
These Pottery Barn alphabet letter eggs spell out Happy Easter and are quite pretty. You could knock these off with a cricut or even with a steady hand and a Sharpie. In fact, I don’t think you even need a steady hand if you want yours to look like theirs!
This adorable bunny lampshade from Ballard Designs looks a little tricky. But really, what do you need besides an exacto knife and an old lampshade? And a little patience? And the ability to cut precise shapes on an awkward round canvas covered tube?
Note – there are some affiliate links in this post, but not all of them. Not that any of you would use them anyway. We are too resourceful for that! ;)
If you have a tutorial on your blog to make any of the above projects, please leave a link in the comments!

Super cute ideas! I might have to give the topiary a try, or the Easter garland. You could cut the Easter shapes with a Cricut and have it done in no time! Hmmm….
